spectatorship in public places

I am an art historian and media scholar interested in the intersections between visual culture, moving image media, and physical space. I received my PhD in Art History from The Graduate Center of the City University of New York in 2016. I am currently Assistant Professor of Art History at Miami University in Ohio.

I’ve published in a number of journals and edited volumes in both art history and media studies and am currently working on a book project related to my dissertation on the moving image in public art.

For publications, abstracts, and syllabi, see my academia.edu profile.  You can also hit me up on LinkedIn or Twitter.

  1. Hello, nice post about “local film” forwarded to me by a friend. I have worked a lot with the films of itinerant H. Lee Waters who shot in 120 towns in this region 1936-1942. Long time ago I made a short doc about him “The Cameraman Has Visited Our Town,” streaming at http://www.folkstreams.net. Good luck with you research, sounds interesting. Tom Whiteside, Durham NC
